Seemed sturdy but Broke after a week Jul 23, 2010 Title says it all. I really liked the clip so you could put it on the bill of your hat and have an instant headlamp. Not overly bright but good for working when it is dark. But, it broke in a week! I expect a decade of use out of a flashlight, not a week.
Good, but Much better options are available Jul 19, 2010 This little light is "good", but there are much better lights in the same class out there.
It is a solidly built casing, but the light is only slightly above average.
The Gerber is way too overpriced for such an average light capability.
If you want something super bright and water-tight, look at the Fenix E01 keychain light.
Also worth looking at is the Streamlight microstream flashlight.
The Streamlight is the best, in class light I have found, to date.

I like it... Jul 06, 2010 This flashlight is smaller than I thought what makes me like it even more, it can fits into any pocket, the luminosity is very aceptable as it takes only one AA battery, I think is a good deal...

You'll never need to buy batteries! Perfect for a 4 year old who always leaves his flashlight on! Jun 07, 2010 I have a four year old son who loves flashlights. He loves them so much he likes to leave them on, sometimes for days on end. I tried a couple of the 3x AAA multiple led cheapies, all of which just seemed to eat batteries and I just got wore out swapping the rechargeables in and out of my charger.
My next thought was to find a flashlight with some form of auto-off mechanism that maybe turned off after several hours of not being moved. Have any of you found anything like this? Not me. I also considered one of the shake or crank models but them seemed too complicated for a 4 year old to manage.
Then I noticed the reviews for this one. 4 year old's favorite color is green. That's good enough for 5 stars in his book but what fascinated me was the reviews that stated that it works well and maintains brightness on old mostly used AA's. I've got several devices that just don't work well on rechargables and eat regular AA's for lunch. Hence, I have a large bag of half (or more) used AA's that register a red or yellow light on my battery tester that have been sitting around for months waiting to get recycled. What a great way to use these up so I wouldn't feel like I was wasting them by recycling them when they still had some life.
So much for that idea! I bought the Gerber, put one of the yellow (proably half used or more) AA's in the light thinking it would last a few days or until the flashight got left on overnight. When he left it on, no biggie, I'd have plenty more batteries where that came from. Three weeks later and the light is going strong. It does not look like this is going to be a solution for using up my old AA's and I'll likely never work my through the bag. But I found the perfect solution for a flashlight for my son.
IF YOU USE AA'S FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE, IT'S HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT YOU'LL EVER NEED TO BUY A BATTERY FOR THIS FLASHLIGHT.
The light is not good for long distances, but suits my 4 year old just fine for getting around the house at night. It's more than adequate for him to wake us up by shinging it in our eyes in the middle of the night and also works fine for short trips around the block walking the dogs at night. I plan on taking it along as a spare backup emergency light on backpacking trips as well.
This flashlight is remarkable.

durable, compact LED light with no on/off switch Jun 06, 2010 PROS:
durable
compact
LED light is bright, energy efficient (for long battery life) and shock resistant
CONS:
no on/off switch
no lens cover -- the LED is exposed and thus could be scratched or dirty if exposed to bad weather.
BOTTOM LINE:
i like this light, but the absence of an on/off switch is annoying. i don't like screwing the butt cap in or out to turn it on/off. other than that i have no complaints. i would buy another one if it had an on/off switch.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
the pocket clip is on backwards. if you were to use the pocket clip, the light would be pointing up at your face instead of down toward your feet.
a small pocket case would be a nice accessory to keep it in new condition.
