A-ok Jan 24, 2010 The shoulder support works as promised. I use this just at night to avoid myself injuring my shoulder further as I sleep and it works great for that. The instruction "paper" that came with it on how to wear it wasn't completely obvious but I was able to get it on by myself after playing with it for a bit. Overall a good purchase I think, but knocking off a star for poor instructions.

Shoulder support Dec 28, 2009 Bought this shoulder support for my 17 year old daughter. She plays basketball and has dislocated her shoulder twice. She wheres this when she plays and feels at ease with it. Good price as well.
pretty good Nov 09, 2009 I recently dislocated my shoulder so I bought one of these to keep my shoulder in place when I play sports and prevent it from further injury. It has a velcro strap that completely immobilizes the shoulder and I tried playing with the strap on, but that's really impractical because I can't even swing my arm to run.
Now I use it without the strap and hopefully that's giving me some protection. Unfortunately, my doctor says it probably isn't doing much if I don't use the strap. Still, it makes me feel a little more secure on the field and let's people know I'm injured.
It's pretty bulky, but I don't find it terribly uncomfortable. Definitely hot though. Also, they run kinda big.

Not for busty women! Jul 20, 2009 I ordered this product to help with the pain of my rotator cuff tendonitis.
There is no sizing chart, so I used a chart from a different but similar product to guess what size to order. It was WAY off. I am 5'4" average build female with a DD chest, and a medium did not fit at all. I could get the velcro chest strap to touch under my armpit, and managed to see that the pad on top of my shoulder had "tented" up on the edge closest to my neck to the point I could put a fist underneath it. The arm band was way too tight, and my upper arms are not big. The portion of the neoprene in front of my neck was actually choking me.
I ordered this style of support despite having seen a review elsewhere warning women with large chests that it would not work; I just had to see for myself. Even if I swapped this product for a larger size, I do not think it would ever fit me properly.
The "bulkiness" people have spoken of in their reviews refers to the top of the shoulder area; there is a 1/4 - 1/2" thick chunk of neoprene sewn onto the top surface of brace for some reason. It looks and feels like a football shoulder pad (on a female, at least)!
It came with one black-and-white sheet with some instructions. They were technically correct, but difficult to understand even with the product right in front of me. I just used trial and error trying it on until it looked right, and I never even got to the strap system.
The stitching on the neoprene seemed adequate.
If it had fit, I would have kept the support, but my two "McDavid Shoulder Support with Straps" are going back a.s.a.p.
I am giving it 1 star because of the lack of a size/measurement chart, and for how it does not fit women well.

Sweet! Nov 28, 2008 I injured my shoulder in high school playing football, and now that i play rugby in college, this product really helps keep my shoulder where it belongs. its bulky, but i like it! i also like the strap pretty tight around my chest, which constricts breathing a bit, but rather safe than sorry.
