5This is the easiest way to store bikes off the ground  Jul 28, 2010
First I had purchased the pulley type systems for the 2 road bikes and 1 mountain bike I wanted to get up off the ground. I got those home, and really struggled with trying to figure out exactly where to hang them to maximize the space I had to work with. Throw in the fact that the studs are really hard to find due to the design and heavy insulation of the house, and then the fact that I would need to cut wood, paint it, and try to mount everything so that it lined up exactly to each bike made my brain hurt. The 3 pulley systems were over $50, the rope looked cheap, and I decided to look into alternatives. I came across these on Amazon and thought it looked like a much easier and cheaper alternative, as well as the bonus of having the shelves the hold the helmets. I received them yesterday, hung the heavier mountain bike on the single rack and the 2 lighter road bikes on the double. They worked great, went up within 1/2 hour between the 2 of them, and got the bikes (and helmets) up off the floor. I have to agree with others that you definitely need to be sure you are attaching these to something solid, preferably directly into the studs. You also should look at picking up some high quality wood screws, as the ones provided will strip easily. Total cost about $34 delivered for both units. Save money, save time, save headache, and gain some extra helmet storage. All adds up to my recommendation to get these if you want to hang bikes on a side wall.

5Racor Folding Double Bike Rack  Jul 25, 2010
I bought this to hang one bike, and it works great. I could easily hang another road bike, facing the opposite direction. This product is very sturdy and a huge space-saver, because I can get 1 or 2 bikes up off the floor and out of the way. Easy to install with included hardware. Installed in a stud, about 7 feet off the floor. Have had no problems with stability. My bike is only about 18 pounds, but I am confident I could hang another bike on it, as well. Shipped very quickly, arrived in great condition. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a small apartment and enough wall space for a bike - especially if, for some reason, you can't hang your bike from the ceiling. It would also make a great budget repair stand, if you hung it at working height. It does stick out from the wall quite far, so if you don't really need to hang two bikes on it, I recommend getting the single-bike rack, which is a little lower profile. However, this rack does fold completely flat against the wall, to stay out of the way when not in use.

1Avoid like the plague - no redeeming features whatsoever.  May 28, 2010
I must say I'm amazed they're still selling these after my experience with them - suffice to say I'm in the market for a new rack.

Like other 2 arm racks (see reviews of the "Allen Wall Mounted 2 bike rack") getting 2 bikes on here is a struggle. They have to be angled just right. Even then, the pedals interlock with something on the other bike and it's all a horrible mess.

The rack itself has plastic coating over metal arms. In a few weeks the plastic coating on mine split and came off, so be prepared to do a home repair or risk scratching your bike.

Worst of all was the mounting hardware. I used the supplied hardware to mount it to a brick wall in my garage. After a month (you're getting the picture right - longevity?) the damn thing pulled itself out my wall - bikes and all - and managed to scratch my car.

I can think of no redeeming qualities of this piece of junk. You have been warned.

4Works great  May 16, 2010
I have two of these: one for my mountain bike and one for my road bike. I use them to create additional floor space and to keep the bikes out of "crash range" from my kids.

The racks themselves are great but come with soft-metal Phillips screws that are kind of a pain to secure tightly into wall studs. I endured the process with my first rack but switched to 2x1/4" hex lags that I provided myself for the second, much more enjoyable, installation.

3not a space saver  Apr 06, 2010
It is easy to install and it holds the bike and it's been holding it fine. I suppose if you put it high up on the wall it may save some floor space but really, now I'm wondering why I bought it, except that the wheels won't stain my wall because I don't need to lean the bike against anything... I think I would like one that hangs the bike vertically rather than this one.
